final Portfolio

Image
For my final portfolio I decided to use my favorite picture of myself on the cover, but the rest I decided to use the same color scheme as the company I work for. I decided to use white, green and navy blue. Overall, I think the design was simple which was my goal. I didn't want an intricate design that would take the eyes away from the actual individual project, but rather center it on art I created. It's weird to think I wrote my first blogger post way back in August and now I'm finishing it in December. I will thankfully take a lot of this material and knowledge with me into my future with my advertising degree.

business cards

These are my business cards that I finalized. I used my logos that were created a few weeks back in class. I wasn't a big fan of the logos that I made, but I continued to used them for this project. I would never use any of these business cards for the future, but they worked fine for the project at hand.

For my post card I chose to use the Chicago skyline during the sunset. I think this picture looks great and like your typical post card. For reference, I could not get the image to not be grainy nor could I get this system to work very well.

INDesign tools

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eqhUFRlvgI One tool in Adobe InDesign is the "Paragraph Styles" feature. This tool allows you to define and apply consistent formatting to paragraphs throughout your document, ensuring a cohesive and professional appearance. To use this tool effectively, you start by creating a Paragraph Style with specific font attributes, paragraph spacing, and other formatting elements. Once defined, you can apply this style to any paragraph in your document with a simple click, providing a quick and efficient way to maintain consistency in your design. If you later decide to change the formatting, you can update the Paragraph Style, and all instances throughout the document will automatically adjust. This tool is particularly useful for large documents, such as books or magazines, where maintaining a consistent layout is essential for a polished and professional look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF_fu1wcT0Y Another indispensable tool in Adobe InDesign

I chose to use the show Shameless because it is one of my all time favorite shows and is honeslty just an easy show to shoot pictures for, especially with the cast photos. the process itself wasn't too difficult, but I still had a little trouble with the cutting of the background.

I think this photo would be very difficult to photoshop myself into it due to the phone, the mirror and the finger. all of those objects would be very difficult to navigate around.  This picture is helping me to chose the one from the scene I would like. Ideally, I'm going to use the main image from the show shameless.  I think this picture is funny because he asked to not be so alone, but instead they just added someone to the TV.  I would like to create this photo, I think it would be really simply and easy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKFZjRV7L_Q In the first video, I learned about the pen tool. Based on my attempt to use it in illustrator and after this video, I think it'll be fairly easy. It seems like a simple tool to use, but at first I believe it'll be a challenge. I know you can use the pen tool by using paths, that create to control points. If you don't close all the shapes, then it'll just be a big open group of lines.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJWPdicD1pI The second video I watched was about the paint brush and how to use it. When we used the color match in illustrator, I felt confident about that. The paint brush seems a little trickier than just having the color match the other one.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJnka575yq4  The next video I watched was about creating shapes with the shape tool. I think this will be fairly easy to use, especailly since I don't need to use the pen tool to create the shapes if I use this feature instead. I don&#
